This six foot aluminum straight edge is economical and lightweight. It is useful for most carpet installation purposes, but does not have the accuracy of our ground steel straight edges. The serrated slip-proof bottom side helps the tool to stay put on the carpet’s backing while cuts are being made. Includes a 45° angle on one end, and a hanging hole on the other. Dimensions: 72″ long x 2 1/2” wide x 3/16” thick.

Installation — Stretch-in over pad
- Stretch-in is a job for a professional installer — we supply the materials, not the installation. Check the unit on this page before you measure: many broadloom rolls are priced by the square yard, which is 9 sq ft.
- Tackless strips are nailed around the perimeter and a cushion pad is laid first.
- The carpet is power-stretched onto the strips for a tight, wrinkle-free fit.
- Seams are heat-taped and trimmed cleanly at doorways and transitions.
Care & maintenance
- Vacuum regularly; blot spills immediately rather than rubbing.
- Have it professionally deep-cleaned every 12–18 months.
