The Knives from Crain. A quality pick to round out your flooring job.
This inexpensive yet versatile cutter is great for rough cutting of carpet off the roll. It takes slotted razor blades, utility blades, or Crain No. 300Y blades. When used with utility or Crain No. 300Y blades, the blade angle cuts from the carpet's backing to prevent shearing and wadding up of yarns. Steel springs on both sides of the cutter hold the carpet down as it is being cut.

Installation — Glue-down
- Acclimate the material and make sure the subfloor is clean, dry and flat.
- Spread the recommended adhesive with the correct-notch trowel; work in small sections.
- Set each piece into the wet adhesive and roll the floor to ensure full transfer.
- Keep traffic off until the adhesive fully cures (check the adhesive label).
Care & maintenance
- Sweep or dry-mop regularly; damp-mop with a pH-neutral cleaner.
- Wipe spills promptly and use felt pads under furniture.
