The Hand Groovers from Crain. A quality pick to round out your flooring job.
973 by Crain. The groover’s precision guide wheels track in the seam to cut a groove for heat welding. Groove starting at the middle of the seam with the front blade, then up close to the wall with the rear blade. Groove curves and circles using a clip-on foot plate that allows the back end to slide. Blade depth is adjustable. Cuttings flow out under the handle, which pivots open for cleaning.
All adjustments are made with a 1/8” hex key (included) that stores on the tool. Takes standard blades and comes with two No. 974 4mm blades. Comes with protective bag.

Installation — Glue-down
- Acclimate the material and make sure the subfloor is clean, dry and flat.
- Spread the recommended adhesive with the correct-notch trowel; work in small sections.
- Set each piece into the wet adhesive and roll the floor to ensure full transfer.
- Keep traffic off until the adhesive fully cures (check the adhesive label).
Care & maintenance
- Sweep or dry-mop regularly; damp-mop with a pH-neutral cleaner.
- Wipe spills promptly and use felt pads under furniture.
