Crain knives. The right piece to finish your installation.
The Versa-Cutter is our most versatile and durable carpet cutter. It takes utility blades, slotted razor blades, or Crain 300Y Loop Pile Blades. When used with utility or Crain 300Y blades, it cuts smoothly from the carpet’s backing, and will not shear yarns. Springs on either side of the cutter hold the carpet down as it is being cut. The thin steel row guide follows in the rows of carpet.
The steel foot plate fastened on the base reduces wear and extends the life of the cutter. Two large thumb knobs allow simple, fast blade changes.

Installation — Glue-down
- Acclimate the material and make sure the subfloor is clean, dry and flat.
- Spread the recommended adhesive with the correct-notch trowel; work in small sections.
- Set each piece into the wet adhesive and roll the floor to ensure full transfer.
- Keep traffic off until the adhesive fully cures (check the adhesive label).
Care & maintenance
- Sweep or dry-mop regularly; damp-mop with a pH-neutral cleaner.
- Wipe spills promptly and use felt pads under furniture.
