The Crack Isolation Membranes from Custom Building Products — quiets footsteps and evens out the subfloor beneath your new floor.

A versatile, light, and easy to use and cut underlayment for setting tile and stone over any acceptable floor. The mat is designed so that the mortar locks in – creating a bonded crack-prevention system for subfloor movement up to 1/4″ (6 mm). Its SoundGard Technology offers high and credible impact sound reduction.

  • 25 times lighter than 1/4” (6 mm) backerboard
  • 9 times lighter than other sound reduction mats
  • Highest level of impact sound reduction (up to 71 dB)
  • An excellent alternative to cork underlayments since it will not shrink, rot, or absorb water
