The MARSHALLTOWN LayFlat Notched Trowel features unique wave-shaped notches that eliminate air pockets between the substrate and tile. This results in superior coverage and adhesion for medium to large format tile applications. The LayFlat Notched Trowel is constructed using the same professional quality materials as our standard notched trowel line.
It is made of the highest grade carbon steel, equipped with an aluminum alloy Xtralite mounting, and features a DuraSoft handle. This product is Made in the USA with Global Materials.

Installation — Glue-down
- Acclimate the material and make sure the subfloor is clean, dry and flat.
- Spread the recommended adhesive with the correct-notch trowel; work in small sections.
- Set each piece into the wet adhesive and roll the floor to ensure full transfer.
- Keep traffic off until the adhesive fully cures (check the adhesive label).
Care & maintenance
- Sweep or dry-mop regularly; damp-mop with a pH-neutral cleaner.
- Wipe spills promptly and use felt pads under furniture.
