The NCS Top Shear is designed and manufactured in the USA by the NC Family. If you’re in the market for a tool to shear the carpet surface, the NCS makes other units obsolete. It essentially makes old rugs new again by removing uneven pile heights and fuzzies. In this it also restores carpet color, pattern definition, & reduces matting.
It is employed by carpet cleaning companies who wish to shear away uneven pile heights and removes the carpet fuzzies left by cleaning. Rug manufacturers often employ it to shear down uneven pile heights, irregular tufts and seams. It shears exponentially faster than any existing or preexisting carpet shear. Reason being, its powerful motor allows you to shear 2-3’x deeper in one single pass.

Installation — Stretch-in over pad
- Stretch-in is a job for a professional installer — we supply the materials, not the installation. Check the unit on this page before you measure: many broadloom rolls are priced by the square yard, which is 9 sq ft.
- Tackless strips are nailed around the perimeter and a cushion pad is laid first.
- The carpet is power-stretched onto the strips for a tight, wrinkle-free fit.
- Seams are heat-taped and trimmed cleanly at doorways and transitions.
Care & maintenance
- Vacuum regularly; blot spills immediately rather than rubbing.
- Have it professionally deep-cleaned every 12–18 months.
