The Crack Isolation Membranes from Mapei in Silver — adds cushioning, sound-dampening and a smoother subfloor.
Mapelastic is a two-component cementitious membrane that waterproofs concrete and masonry. It also offers protection against chemical attack from de-icing salts, sulfates, chlorides and carbon dioxide.

Installation — Glue-down
- Acclimate the material and make sure the subfloor is clean, dry and flat.
- Spread the recommended adhesive with the correct-notch trowel; work in small sections.
- Set each piece into the wet adhesive and roll the floor to ensure full transfer.
- Keep traffic off until the adhesive fully cures (check the adhesive label).
Care & maintenance
- Sweep or dry-mop regularly; damp-mop with a pH-neutral cleaner.
- Wipe spills promptly and use felt pads under furniture.
