Forbo Decibel On Order linoleum flooring in Grey Adobe sets the tone with hard-wearing, low-maintenance performance under a warm matte finish. Part of Forbo's Decibel On Order collection, it's crafted to look as good in ten years as it does on day one.

Real linoleum is made from linseed oil, pine rosin, wood flour and limestone on a natural jute backing — renewable raw materials rather than PVC. Because the colour goes right through the sheet, wear shows as patina rather than a worn-out print. Forbo finishes its Marmoleum lines with Topshield2, a factory-applied surface treatment: no initial polishing, and routine care is dry sweeping plus damp mopping. Linoleum earns its keep in schools, healthcare and offices, where it takes years of traffic. It is not a wet-area floor, though: the backing is natural jute, so clean it damp rather than wet, deal with standing spills promptly, and avoid rooms where water can pool or rise through the slab.
