Real linoleum is made from linseed oil, pine rosin, wood flour and limestone on a natural jute backing — renewable raw materials rather than PVC. Because the colour goes right through the sheet, wear shows as patina rather than a worn-out print. Forbo finishes its Marmoleum lines with Topshield2, a factory-applied surface treatment: no initial polishing, and routine care is dry sweeping plus damp mopping. It is a hard-wearing commercial floor — schools, hospitals and offices are its home ground — but it is not a wet-area product. The jute backing is a natural fibre, so damp-mop rather than flood it, wipe up standing spills, and keep it out of rooms where water can pool or wick up through the subfloor.

Marmoleum Ohmex is a linoleum floor covering that meets higher requirements for electrical conductivity. It's electrical resistance is improved to < 1-108Ω (in accordance with EN1081). This ensures personal safety and protects equipment that is sensitive to static electricity, like computers and other electronic devices. Marmoleum Ohmex is a non-stock item.
