The colour runs through the full thickness, so scuffs and traffic wear in as patina instead of wearing through a printed layer. Forbo finishes its Marmoleum lines with Topshield2, a factory-applied surface treatment: no initial polishing, and routine care is dry sweeping plus damp mopping. It is a hard-wearing commercial floor — schools, hospitals and offices are its home ground — but it is not a wet-area product. The jute backing is a natural fibre, so damp-mop rather than flood it, wipe up standing spills, and keep it out of rooms where water can pool or wick up through the subfloor.
